I heard a rumor that Dianna Tavis who owns The Quilting Cottage in Oakville is closing the brick and mortar part of her store and going to be internet only.

Anyone know if this is true?

I sure hope not. This was one of the most friendliest shops I visited last year on the Western Washington Quilt Shop Hop.

I checked her web site but no info there:
http://www.thequiltingcottage.com/

Maybe it's a good story for the Chronicle... hint, hint Christopher...

They moved to Oakville from Rochester when they closed here. I don't know if they are closing...just wanted to add that they had relocated recently.

She wasn't included in the Western WA Quilt shop hop booklet (available now at Sisters in Chehalis) and so it got some online quilters talking and someone mentioned that she was closing the brick & morter shop and going online.

I subscribe to her newsletter but I haven't heard anything. Maybe I'll drop her an email and see if I can get a reply. .

Hmmm, it still shows classes as recent as Feb. 27. Have you called em?

Are you a quilter? I started venturing into the realm of quilting last year when I took a class from my mom, Kim Mason (Shameless plug. Check out her quilting blog at http://kimquiltz.wordpress.com.).

Here's some pictures of the last quilting attempts I made

Hi, it's me.
mind if I intrude?
I did close the shop. While I focus on the website mainly, I am open on saturdays and other days by appointment. I also do more writing. That's the polite version. The other version of why is more personal. I only tell that in private messages.
The good news is I am now getting out and being more social with my quilting, writing, reading... life.

Each day gets better. I have written some of my best bits. (I think) and an getting out more and meeting new people. that was something I didn't really do before. The last few months have been nothing short of surreal. I am even offering a new service to guilds that is getting some notice...(personal articles for hteir newsletters) and that's exciting... I' can't say I'm sane, mainly because I wasn't to start with... but I am happier....
