I have dug around and found out that they are located in CHehalis, have a web page www.justiceleagueofwashington.ord.

They are a non profit organization that will do legal work for low income in this area. A great thing for this area!!! Phone number: 996-4224 it is local. I called and they are open and willing to take people right away.

There were a couple of articles in the local paper and then nothing.

This is a good thing.

I am not thinking warm and fuzzies, because there is no mention of WHO is involved with this. Who is on the board of directors? That is a critical piece of missing information.

I did, which is where I couldn't find out who was on the board of directors. If you have that, please provide. thanks.

LC, it is my understanding, having spoken to Tonya Burk, that these two women ARE the "board."

From their website:

"The Justice League of Washington governed by a five member Board of Directors. Our Board of Directors is composed of two attorneys and three local professionals who are dedicated to focusing on our mission and an ensuring that Washington citizens can obtain fair and affordable representation for their legal matters."

Now, I realize I only have a 2-year degree in journalism, but this was not too tough to find out. Again, who is on the board of directors?

Sorry LC, I was just going off what I had discussed with them in a phone conversation a few months ago.

I'm not a reporter, by the way.

No, and don't care about Lewis County Bar Legal Aid. Actually, I don't care about the Justice League of Washington either, but since you wanted to proclaim it's existance and have people check them out, (via webpage) I thought I would. And, after checking them out, I just wondered who was behind this.

Not only is this a fair request, but an ethical issue as well.

Just an update. Justice League of Washington is a non profit corporation formed to actually represent low income persons in Washington. That includes Lewis County and its 14.8% unemployed. I noticed the original thread seems to have been lost here. Just a reminder this corporation is trying to assist local residents. If you are in need call: 996-4224

I deleted the duplicate threads. There were three, all the same, posted in different areas of the Buzz. It's not necessary. I can merge this thread with the original one if you'd like.

I went ahead and merged the original thread, which you had posted in General Discussion, with the fourth and newest one, which was posted here in Our Area. The other two, which had no replies and were posted respectively in Chehalis and Our Area, are deleted.

This way, all the replies and information will be all in one place and easier for everyone to find.

No No No!!! Youre doing it all wrong, it should be Justice League of Lewis County! (Insert trumpets and horns)

By day I'm a mild mannered auction worker and pack rat, but at night I hit the internet and right wrongs and say silly things.

I wear a big D on my chest, I'm Dayn, And I'll leave the light on. (More trumpets and horns)

Way to go Justice League. I checked out your website, very nice! I am not sure if the other posts were unable to reach your website, but I found all the information I needed, including the Board members. Good luck to you. This county needs some people willing to fight and we all need some financial relief, especially with all the bank scams and illegal foreclosures going on locally and across the nation. If you can stop a few more foreclosures in the area, then more kudos to you. People being put out in the street is not right and until all foreclosures get banned due to an economy that was not your fault or mine, then maybe we can all re-focus on getting back to work and getting back on track!

But for fathers with custody, visitation, Protection Orders, and child support issues, you still can't beat Dads & Kids. Nobody can. And I even advertise in The Chronicle.
