Anyone have any good stories about a strange encounter or experience while hiking, hunting or fishing?

I saw big foot tracks once. Well, I'd had lots to drink and realized the next day thems were elk tracks that had been stomped on by Olequa. Hate when that happens.

This is a second hand story, but too funny not to tell. This was told on a forum years ago on the same topic.

Dave was on a river down in Oregon fishing for salmon. After several hours of fishing, Dave had a dire erge to use the restroom that did not exist. Dave hiked back into the woods into a gully behind some brush. While Dave was doing his business, a young boy about5 or 6 years old walks into the small opening that Dave is using. Dave not knowing what to do and not wanting really to move just stares at the boy hoping he moves on. The boy just stares. Dave asks; "Are you Lost?" The boy, "no" Dave; "Can I help you" boy; "no" Then a loud voice calls into the brush; "What's taking you so long?" The little boy, replies back; "I can't go." , The Dad; "Why?" In a panicked voice; "Because there is a man staring at me!" The boys father comes shooting through the brush ready to kill some pervert. As he busted through, he sees Dave and quickly realizes what is going on, apologizes and takes his son somewhere else.

You'll find some really strange people on back country trails, this dates back before the forest service closed most of the trails to us. That is really old I still have hair.
